Heterologous Expression of the Apple MdbZIP26 Gene in Arabidopsis thaliana Improves Resistance to High Salinity and Drought Stress

چکیده
High salinity and drought seriously limit the production of many crops worldwide, including apple (Malus x. domestica Borkh). Members bZIP family transcription factors play important roles in abiotic stress various plants, but there have been few studies perennial tree species. In our previous study, we conducted a genome-wide survey factor genes apple. Here, focused on one these genes, MdbZIP26, which is induced by high salinity, drought, exogenous abscisic acid (ABA). The MdbZIP26 promoter contains several apparent cis-acting elements associated with response, such as ABRE/G-box, DRE, GT1, GMSCAM4. temporal spatial expression patterns were consistent role response. Arabidopsis thaliana plants expressing showed enhanced tolerance to dehydration this was altered ABA/stress-regulated genes. Considered together, results suggest that plays resistance via ABA-mediated signaling.

Negative control of Strictisidine synthase like-7 gene on salt stress resistance in Arabidopsis thaliana
Strictosidine synthase-like (SSL) is a group of gene families in the Arabidopsis genome, which whose orthologues in other plants are key enzymes in mono-terpenoid indole-alkaloid biosynthesis pathway. The SSL7 is upregulated upon treatments of Arabidopsis plants with signaling molecules such as SA, methyl jasmonate and ethylene. To find the functional role of the gene, a T-DNA-mediated knockout...
متن کاملHeterologous Expression of the AtDREB1A Gene in Transgenic Peanut-Conferred Tolerance to Drought and Salinity Stresses
Research on genetic transformation in various crop plants using the DREB1A transcription factor has shown better abiotic stress tolerance in transgenic crops. The AtDREB1A transgenic peanut (Arachis hypogaea L. cv. GG 20), which was previously developed, was characterized in terms of its physio-biochemical, molecular and growth parameters. The tolerance of this transgenic peanut to drought and ...
متن کاملHeterologous Expression of the Wheat Aquaporin Gene TaTIP2;2 Compromises the Abiotic Stress Tolerance of Arabidopsis thaliana
Aquaporins are channel proteins which transport water across cell membranes. We show that the bread wheat aquaporin gene TaTIP2;2 maps to the long arm of chromosome 7b and that its product localizes to the endomembrane system. The gene is expressed constitutively in both the root and the leaf, and is down-regulated by salinity and drought stress. Salinity stress induced an increased level of C-...
متن کاملHeterologous Expression of Two Jatropha Aquaporins Imparts Drought and Salt Tolerance and Improves Seed Viability in Transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana
Drought and high salinity are environmental conditions that cause adverse effects on the growth and productivity of crops. Aquaporins are small integral membrane proteins that belong to the family of the major intrinsic proteins (MIPs), with members in animals, plants and microbes, where they facilitate the transport of water and/or small neutral solutes thereby affecting water balance. In this...
متن کاملSRK2C, a SNF1-related protein kinase 2, improves drought tolerance by controlling stress-responsive gene expression in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Protein phosphorylation/dephosphorylation are major signaling events induced by osmotic stress in higher plants. Here, we showed that a SNF1-related protein kinase 2 (SnRK2), SRK2C, is an osmotic-stress-activated protein kinase in Arabidopsis thaliana that can significantly impact drought tolerance of Arabidopsis plants. Knockout mutants of SRK2C exhibited drought hypersensitivity in their root...
